There is no access other than dropping the fuel tank. On a pickup you can raise the bed but this is not an option for you. It is not a huge deal to drop the tank, however it is difficult to reinstal the lock ring while putting the new pump in.

SOURCE: fuel pump

you don't have to drop the gas tank. if you pull up the carpet in the trunk, there is a hatch that opens directly above the fuel pump for changing it.

SOURCE: 2000 PONTIAC FIREBIRD FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT

Many of the Pontiacs of that era up to even present models had an access panel in the trunk that you could access through the back seat pass through.

Its been a while since I seen the inside of a Firebird, but in thinking about it the back seat pass through may not be present on the Firebird, but it may be worth the time to lift up the carpeting in the trunk area and see if there is an access panel to the fuel pump.

SOURCE: car stalled while running

Check under the back seat for an access panel to the pump. Might be the pump or just the level unit. Good luck.

SOURCE: fuel pump - 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

2003 Grand Am GT,You have to drop the fuel tank, remove heat shield, remove all lines, electrical plug ins, then you are ready to do straps,be sure to go get extra nut and bolts for straps (2) of them had to cut off old ones, once straps are off depending on how much gas is in the tank used jack to lower tank, fuel pump was a twist off with locking mechanisms on top of tank, used a rubber malet and screw driver to loosen, pull out after diconnecting plug ins etc, replace blue plug in for harness to fit new pump, was recommended since it could corrode, lifted tank back up connected wires, lines etc,put key in on position 3-4 times for pump to pump, car started 1st time,my first fuel pump took my son and I 2 1/2 hours, new pump $250.00 wire harness $15.00 and two new nuts and bolts $3.25

SOURCE: Can the fuel pump be accessed and replaced without

Yes, get a torch and burn a very large diameter hole through the trunk area and down into the gas tank. If you are still alive after the explosion, the pump will be right there and you can change it.

Where can I drill a hole in the trunk of a 97 Buick LeSabre to access the fuel pump without dropping the gas tank

DO NOT DRILL A HOLE! Drop the tank!
Your basically guessing when you drill the hole AND the heat generated by the drill could ignite any fuel that is in the tank!
If there isn't an access panel under the rear seats, dropping the tank is the ONLY safe way to do this. It's a pain in the tail-bone job but its the safest method.

Is there an access for 1991Lincoln Contenental fuel pump without dropping the fuel tank

I'm not certain, but I don't think so. They hadn't figured that out by 1991. However, you can eyeball the tank where it is situated under the car-look for where the access to tank's fuel pump is on top of the gas tank. Then get inside the trunk or look under the rear seat cushion to see if there is a round access plate held by several screws. If there is one, it will be directly over the gas tank's hole for the pump and sending unit.

Is there a access panel in the 1998 grand Cherokee jeep without dropping the gas tank

I replaced the fuel pump in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport without having to remove the gas tank. Maybe you can too in your '98 Grand Cher. If your fuel pump is accessed from the upper front of the gas tank-above the rear differential-then you should be able to remove the pump with the tank in place. It was easy on that jeep of my son's, took only about an hour or two.

Can I replace the fuel pump without taking out the gas tank on a Toyota 2008 RAV4.

You should be able to access it from the back of the fuel tank without dropping the tank, although you will have to raise the vehicle a bit to have good access.

How do I change a fuel pump on a 1999 buick regal

The fuel pump is in the gas tank. more than likely you have to drop the tank to remove/replace the pump. I would contact you local dealers service dept. as some of those cars had an access panel under the back seat to access the pump without having to remove the tank.

If you have an access panel, it should be an hour or less job with common hand tools.

Can you change the fuel pump without dropping the gas tank?

The only way you can change one without dropping one is by a access hole. Look under your back seat. Take it out. If there is two compartments in the back, one of them is your fuel pump access lid. The other one is your float. If you can't get to it from the back seat, you will have to drop the tank. There is no way around it. Sorry.

What is the best way to access the fuel pump to repalce it without adding expenses? They want to cut the floor and do it. Will this cause problems in the winter? We live in Michigan with a lot of deep...

Too bad GM doesnt provide a cover to access tank without dropping the tank. I would think creating this "hole" would be quite the endeavor and done correctly would add quite the additional time and expense. Decline cutting holes and drop the tank in order to service the pump/sender. Any reputable repair firm should or would never recomend this measure in order to access the pump in the fuel tank I would hope....
