The sliding door on the passenger side is stuck closed and will not unlock either manually or electonically. I have the panel off and the black plastic pulled down, but am unable to get the electical lock(?) assimbly out. What can I do? Is there a diagram or something that will show me how to do this?

are you saying to unhook the manual wires from the black plastic switch? There are two wires(or cables) that are from the manual opener.

My 2002 Dodge Caravan. The sliding door on the passenger side is frozen shut and will not unlock either manually or electronically. I have the door panel off, but am unable to remove the black plastic switching(?) unit that I assume controls the lock. What do you suggest I do?

My question is on the sliding door on the passenger side, not the front door.

Good day, well sir your so close from opening the doors. if you find the metal wiring that connects to the door lock then you have to force it a little to let loose. Its gonna be a little tight coz the electronic lock is still connected. if its too tight try removing the steel wires from the power lock connection then try letting the steel wires again. hope this helps and have a nice day.

yes sir on the passenger door 2nd from the front. try to access it and unhook the wires from the power lock mechanism so that you can open the door manually. faulty power locks really makes the door shut stuck

FRONT PASSENGER'S DOOR PANEL
9. Lower the front passenger's window all the way and open the front passenger's door.
10. Begin by prying off the outer handle piece, as shown below. To do this, insert a screwdriver or other strong, thin tool into the crack between the inner and outer pieces at one end and carefully spread them apart. (NOTE: The next four pictures are actually of the rear driver's side door panel and handle. The front passenger's handle is identical to those of the rear doors and I already had the pics for the rear door version of this DIY, so
I used them instead of taking new ones - view the pictures in a mirror if it bothers you - J/K.)

11. Once one end of the outer handle piece is pried out slightly, move to the other end and pry that out slightly, as shown below. Go back and forth between ends until the handle has been pried out approx. 1/8". Once it is this far out, you should be able to pull it off the rest of the way with your hands.

12. The picture below illustrates how the outer handle piece is connected to the inner handle piece by two posts (yellow arrows) and 3 clips (red arrows). Now you know why it is so hard to get off.

13. The picture below shows the inner handle piece still attached to the door panel. The handle piece is attached to the door panel with three medium Phillips screws (red arrows) and the door panel is secured to the door with 2 large Phillips screws (yellow arrows). If you want to remove the inner handle piece from the door panel, remove all five screws. If you are just taking the door panel off, only remove the two large screws indicated by the yellow arrows.

How do you know if rear passenger sliding door on a 07 Toyota Sienna is off track?

Try an obvious thing first. Check the actual runner channels on the body of the vehicle aren't full of dirt and rubbish. I've been caught out by silly stuff like that!
This sounds like it might be an issue with the 'Automatic' part of the door. Does the Auto close still work? Something might have come loose inside the mechanism and is blocking the doors movement.
If the door was off it's tracks the door wouldn't sit right when closed and you would have trouble locking it. The door would look either twisted, where the door gap is wider at one end than the other, or it would sit further out at the top or bottom as you look down the side of the vehicle, where it's jumped out of its runners.

Why isn't my right sliding door not opening or closing

If sliding door is electric, that's where I would start, check the electrical circuits for voltage and ground. If that checks out, the issue may be mechanical?
Your owners manual should give you some operational info for the sliding door.

Hi, My 2013 Toyota RAV4 front passenger door lock is caught. It sounds like it locks/unlocks- but we can't get it open-seems caught. How can we fix this? We don't use keys, always have fobs in our poc

SO DOES THE METAL KEY WORK OR NOT?

If the electonics magic fails , this is first., right?

just passenger door?

so locks can jam, and can be very hard to fix.

object stuck there, (closing door with junk in hands)

also playing with latch, by kids can trip it into an illegal mode.

first get it closed, 100% is it.

then use the key, if that don\'t work it needs service.

the key is for emerancies, say baby stuck in car, so..... use it.

The sliding door on the driver side is stuck closed and will not unlock either manually or electonically. I have the panel off and the black plastic pulled down, but am unable to get the electical lock(?)...

disable door lock...Close all of the doors of the Caravan and insert the key into the ignition.

Move the key to the "ON" position, and then back to the "OFF" position. Repeat this step four times.

Press the driver's side door lock to the "LOCK" position within 10 seconds of turning the ignition to the "OFF" position. If done properly, a single chime will emit from the Caravan to indicate that you have disabled the auto-lock feature.

also a good video on how to remove door lock on Caravan....youtube.
hope this helps a little

Look at the other door and look on the front edge to see where the child safety lock switch and see if that is the problem with the other door. That has happened with mine several times. Someone will play with it leaving it on so it can't be opened.

Passenger door lock does not lock or unlock. It is moving just a little but not enough to lock or unlock the sliding door. The rods are not being restricted in any way. 2006 t&c, dual sliding side...

If it´s the passenger side where the gas tank fill is, there is a automatic safety device that locks the sliding door, that prevents to open the door while filling gas, be sure that the folding cover of the gas tank is fully closed and nothing is jammed inside

Sliding door fails to latch

There is no "switch". The Sliding Doors should be manual anytime you try to open or close them. If not: then there is problem in the electronic system or the physical/mechanical side where something is jamming the door from opening or closing.

The passenger side sliding door won't unlock

I assume it has power locks, so I would look inside the door for a bad door lock solenoid or linkage rod is off. If it is not power, I would look for a linkage rod being disconnected or broken
