Hi there,

Jetta's 2006 carry sealed gear box. There is no dip stick to check the transmission fluid. Per manufacturer, transmission fluid requires to change unless there is any issue with transmission. I hope this helps.

This can be check by the owner; If you are mechanical inclined: first off there is no dipstick, you check it by jacking up the vehicle and pulling out the filler plug on the transaxle and note the level by if it drips out if not then add till runs out plug

Where is transmisson dip stick on 2006 jetta

You can consult your Owner's Manual regarding the transmission dipstick, but don't be surprised to learn that VW has been using sealed transmissions for a number of years. I owned a '98 VX Beetle and they were using sealed transmissions way back then (and probably some years before that). Mercedes has also utilized sealed transmissions in their cars and SUVs - so it just might be a German-thing. You may be looking for a way to verify that your transmission isn't leaking, and that's a difficult task given the circunstances. Fluids on the drive are either windshield washer fluid (which readily evaporates), brake fluid (which also evaporated over a day or so, depending on volume lost), oil (which sticks around for a long time), and transmission fluid (which is mid-way between brake fluid and oil but generally reddish in color).

There is a way to access the transmission, but I do not advise attempting that since it might be a whole lot easier to gain access, but extremely difficult and expensive to re-seal thye transmission once it is opened (about a $600 - $750 job at best).

How do i check and add fluid to my 2006 vw jetta

It will most likely be on backside of engine, drivers side is a good bet but could be passengerside also. Add fluid through the same spot you check it.

I cant find the dip stick for the auto transmission. I looked everywhere. Just dont know. I never owned a VW before, and bought a 96 Jetta gls auto. Help please....

it is my understanding that you have to take it to vw dealer or a vw mechanic and have them check or change tranny fluids. not positive bout it but that is what i was told. daughter just got a jetta turbo and that is what we were told by a friend of hers that has one.

Where to add gear oil to transmission on a 1995 vw jetta manual trans

you must get under the car, there will be 2 large bolts that should jump out from the rest. the lower 1 is the drain, the upper 1 is for adding fluid. Manual trans dont have fill necks or dip sticks under the hood like automatic transmissions.

Where do i check the transmission fluid 2001 jetta

the auto transmission is a maintnance free trans and does not have a dip stick at all. it has a check plug and has to be on a lift at proper running temp and completly level. the auto also uses very special fluid from vw and using another atf will damage this transmission.

I need to know where is the dip stick to check the transmission fluid on a 2003 vw passat

There is no automatic transmission dip stick on your car. There is a long procedure to check and fill and you will need special fluid from VW. Better left to the dealer. If you want the procedure let me know.

Transmission fluid check on a vw jetta tdi

Never ever bring a jetta to a volkwagen dealer. They will bend you over and rape you.

All you have to do is remove the top plug with a hex wrench.
