Instrument panel lights are not burning . How do I replace them?
Lights? more than one? It is extremely improbable that many lights burned at the same time. Jiggle the dashboard dimmer wheel (used for light attenuation adjustment) to see if the lights come back to life. Dimmers, being rheostats, have the nasty habit of burning spots, so they work only at a different location than the burnt spot. Many burnt dashboard lights might be an indication that they got too much voltage. ( Bad voltage regulator). Dashboard lights are placed in the rear of the assembly, and screw right into it. Dashboard must be taken out, and it isnt simple. Purchase a full set of dashboard lights at the car dealer before taking down the dashboard, because you dont want to find out that you dont have the proper bulbs, and the whole dashboard already disassembled.

There are 3 little bulbs on the back of that cluster. They are easily replaced providing you can source the bulbs. There are 2 white ones - one on each end. And a green one that goes behind the A/C button. To access this cluster, remove the ash tray to reveal 2 phillips screws. Remove these and set aside. Next, in the gauge cluster over the steering wheel, there are also 2 or 3 phillips screws. These are in the top. Remove and set aside (duh). Now, starting near the ash tray, begin tugging the dash. It *should* start to come loose. It will makes some noise, but its pretty sturdy.
Keep in mind there are a few wire harnesses attached. Don't go all He-Man on it. These harnesses are easily disconnected and reconnected if you unclip them the way they are intended.
You should now be able to see the heater AC cluster. There are a few philips screws around it. Remove them. Pull out the cluster and rotate it around to reveal the back side. There you will see a little round disc with a slot in it. The slot may be painted or highlighted with red. With a small slotted screw driver, give this little disc a GENTLE quarter turn. You should then have your culprit bulbs in hand. They resemble Christmas tree lights!
It seems that these bulbs are hard to find and are most likely dealer only parts. I have seen some LED replacements in a few places online that may work, but I would prefer something of the OEM variety.

It could be one of two problems. It's kinda hard to explain. The Instrument panel wiring is seperated in two. It could be a bulb. Or the wiring in the panel could have a short. (like mine did) If you know any electrical. You can fix it. You have to take out the panel to see what it could be. If it's the bulb then your golden. When you take out the panel you will see how the wiring is. (it looks like the rear defrost lines on your back window). If it's the wiring then you will have to use a piece of speaker wire about 6 inches long. And use it to jumper power from a good bulb to where the bad side of the panel is.

The whole dash bezel has to come off but are all the dash lights out? if so check the switch for dash lights on a 01 it is built into the turn signal handle I think check it to make sure it's not set to off for dash lights

Most likely yes. most dash components just snap togethernow. be gentle. call the dealer for the bulbs. unlikely they are all burned out. If none work look for a bad fuse and check the head light switch.

Disconnect the negative battery cable .Pry off the trim panel surrounding the device. Trim panels require a flat trim stick to remove trim.Remove the mounting screws and pull it out of the instrument panel.Turn the bulb holder in the back of the device counterclockwise and pull it out. Pull the bulb out of the holder if the replacement bulb does not come with its own holder. Hold the bulb with gloves or a clean rag to avoid getting oils on the bulb glass. Reconnect everything back.
