1998 toyota rav4: replaced clutch; now 4WD won't fully disengage. when 4WD is off, there is a constant beeping which stops if 4WD is turned on. doesn't handle as if it's still in 4WD when it's turned off, but rear wheels scoot when I turn corners or reverse. is there a simple solution? or at least something to look for?

well most likely problem is the rubber bushings on the track bars or mounting bushing for the struts are worn and dry rotted they will cause the squeaking when cornerring and when braking because of the momentum of the body moving back and forth. with so many miles on the vehicle i would have them replaced... please rate this thanks

Something wrong with your Ignition key barrel,
Ignition key barrel jam in place.
or
Could be your anti-Theft System failed (including, but not limited) fuses, wirings, etc. If you have one.
or
So check the fuse boxes (one in the cabin & the other in the engine compartment).
To see if there is any burned fuses.
See Fuse Boxes:
See in the plastic cover, a plastic fuse puller ( use it to pull the fuses) once a time & check NOT burn.
If locked in place; do these steps:
1 - Juggle it several times in a very soft & slow burst.
2 - Juggle (Shake) the steering wheel RH & LH,
several times in a very gentle & slow.
3 – Try to remove the ignition switch
4 – Search the internet Google, www.about.com, www.youtube.com/video
For clues to help you sort out your problems.

I am having a multiple cylinder misfire on my 2006 Toyota RAV4 with the 3.5L V6. Every cylinder is reporting a mifire. Each cylinder has it's own coil. I highly doubt that all 6 coils went bad at once. Does anyone have any idea what my be causing this?? Is that the problem you two are having?
SOURCE: how to replace a fuel pump on a toyota rav4 1998
you need to remove the rear seat to get to it, just keep in mind the system is preasurized, which in english means you need to loosen the fuel filter in the front of the car first, "THIS IS CRITICAL" if not you will cause gas to get all over the interior. The 96-00 rav4 has a hatch under the carpet, under the seats in the rear. it is a pain to get to, once you remove the seats and carpet you will see it. I would recomend you bring it to a dealer if you dont know what you are doing. But if you are like me and figured what the hell, then you will want to take these steps first...
1. Let the car sit for a long period of time, about 3 hours or more.
2. Have a low amount of fuel, do not have a full tank
3. loosen the gas cap
4. Remove the intake, and the fuse box,
5. Loosen the top nut on the fuel filter under the hood to let out the remaining pressure, do not loose the O rings. This is a good time to replace that filter too, it is about 30 bucks from toyota.
6. open the hatch in the rear,
7. remove the electric feeds from the pump.
NOTE: YOU CAN REMOVE THE POWER FROM THE PUMP AND START THE CAR TO TAKE OUT THE PREASURE, BUT I FOUND IT BETTER TO DO IT MY WAY DUE TO WHAT IT TAKES TO START IT AFTER YOU DO THIS.
8. line the floor of the rav with Plastic, bags, or cardboard, or something.
9. remove old pump
10. install new pump
11. Re attach the fuel filter or install new filter
12. get car back together enough to start it, make sure you have all the lines connected, if not gas will get everywhere...
Good Luck, it was a FUN adventure to do this...
