I have a 87 honda accord dx carbureted. when starting it high revs then after idling down it dies. noticed that the butterfly flap on carb stays open and doesn't close after releasing gas pedal. also doesn't mov when pressing on it after warm up. have to manual partially close almost all the way then car idles o.k. seriously need help on this issue car is driving me crazy.
It might just need cleaning. Spray some PB Blaster around the throttle arm where the cable connects to at the base of the carb, and see if that frees up the flaps. And while spraying, fiddle with the throttle linkage.

sprayed links and carb but butterfly flap still stays open after high rev goes down and then stalls. is there a way to adjust the butterfly flap cause when closing it with fingers it feels like something is holding it back into the open position.
