it is the possibility of the water pump fault. Happened in my garage again with a SEAT IBIZA 1.9 tdi where the water pump outside was looking that was running fine but when removed the propeller inside which was plastic and pressed on the pump's metallic shaft was worn and on rotation due to water resistance was not following the shafts rotations therefore the engine was getting overheated where the customer even going to VW Garage lost twice the cylinder head with once full engine recondition and the did not change the water pump as the car was on 2000km.no suspicion. for me how discovered? I play with the car and follow the water moving from cold till the temperature was start to increase, spotted no movement. Try to see whether you might have the same fault?
Possible the Thermo sensor faulty.
Need more info...Any dash lights on...Is interior heater working correctly...Is coolant level ok...Is Temp gauge moving at all
go to autozone the brake light switch is maybe $10 and easy to install yourself looks like a plug and is usually located under the brake pedal look brake light switch up on google and should find install instructions thats what i did and saved $100+
seems high to me. summer thermostats open at 185 , winter thermostats open at 195. At highway speeds , there should be more than enough air flow through the radiator to keep engine in the normal range. Your radiator might be pluged up and cooling poorly , but I suspect your temp guage might be inacurate.
My mechanic in our town did a quick computer check. Car computer indicated a low level of antifreeze, he topped it up, cleared all messages off the car computer and said to watch the the heat guage for any further irregularities. I'll keep an eye on it, love the car, great mileage fun to drive.
Hi, Did you notice the motor actually reving higher when the tachometer was reading a higher rpm.. If it was it could be your transmission slipping.. Set your cruise control and listen to your motor while the tachometer starts moving erratically.. Good Luck
