01 PT cruiser blows fuse#15, stops the wiper and turn signal from working. Any ideas?! Thanks

  • Anonymous Feb 10, 2010

The problem was found and repaired. The rear hatch door hinge has a loom of wire that anytime hatch is opened or closed, it bends, sort of like power window wiring loom in a car's door. After bending so many times, the wires were broken inside the loom and a power feed was touching the exposed ground wire.

Was your fuse burning out as soon as you would change it?

Check the rear wiper operation. Try unplugging rear wiper motor and see if fuse still blows. if it's ok with the rear wiper motor unplugged than the motor is faulty.

There should be 6 relays in the fuse box. Using your manual, find the turn signal relay and replace it.

Does anyone know the exact location of the interior fuse box. wiper and turn signals are out of a 2007 pt cruiser or if the fuse box in the engine is the only one

open the drivers door and look up by the door hinges... if you are working on a pt cruiser I think that's where it is... should be a little lift off cover

WIPER BLADE AND TURN SIGNAL FUSE IMMIDIATELY BLOWS AND MELTS AFTER REPLACED

the fuse is doing its job, it is a safety valve designed to protect the circuit. one of the devices on the circuit is bad and is drawing too much current, which blows the fuse. that is the way a fuse works. take it to a garage which does electrical work, or a dealer, and they can track down and replace the bad boy for you.
