On a 1998 ford contour lx 4cyl engine vin 3, how do you replace the spark plug rubber seals in the head? and whats a part number if you know of one?
to do this you must remove the valve cover to get these seals out. since you have to remove the valve cover you may want to look for the whole kit to do this. it will come with new seals for tubes and for the valve cover itself. i dont have a part number but your local auto parts store should be able to get you what you need if you let them know what you are trying to accomplish.

sounds like EGR valve and sensor this controls idle speed when at a stop. the po171 is a burn lean or rich code need to know what bank 1 or 2. also check for a vacuum leak from one of the hoses.

I have an issue with a 98 ford contour v6. all the lights pulse when the alternator is charging above idle. alt has been replaced.checked the fuse at rear of engine.any ideas about this problem.
This is usually caused by a failing regulator within the alternator, however, it would be a good idea to also check all engine to chassis grounding straps. Thank you.
