The 7.3 power stroke is not tha bad sheesh its actually pretty simple ok let me ask some questions here ok lets start simple when cranking does the needle on the tach move to approx. 5-600 ? if not more than likely its a cam sensor in which case there is actually a recall from ford they will fix it free.... yes I said free :) if not my second guess would be the Idm they were notorious for getting moisture in them btw IDM stands for injector driver module and you can find a good reman unit online for 200 "use google" if you have a friend with a high end scanner hook up and watch engine rpm there and also do a "buzz test" no buzz = idm fail another easy thing to do is open the drain on the fuel filter bowl and turn the key on and crank for 1 sec is there fuel shooting out ? if there isnt check fuel pump well that about covers it good luck please let us know whats up :)

If it just quit runnung while driving. I would suspect the CAM SENSOR died. It is a fairly inexpensive part, obtainable at you ford dealer. I would NOT use starting fluid on a powerstroke diesel, serious damage can occur> I actually witnessed a air cleaner box blown off the vehocle while doing that. He was lucky that's all it did. If you replace the cam sensor and it still will not start, have it towed to a diesel mechanic, this is a compex system that takes the right electronic equipment to test all the systems. Check fuel pressure at the injector rail. Could be your fuel pump relay is cutting out. If fuel pressure is good, check for sparks at the plug wires. Read the link below for more info.

I have a 99 geo metro.4 cyl no start condition.new fuel pump/filter.will start with ether and hold about 2000rpm if holding throttle..will not idle or start withought the ether...help please.

First off.... You have to make sure it IS getting fuel. Are you sure the fuel pump is getting 12volts... the fuel filter is installed in the right direction? Have you disconnected the supply line at the throttle bodt to verify fuel pressure and volume? If it starts with ether... there is definately a fuel supply issue from the tank

96 T100 (3.4), will only run for 2-3 seconds then quit, change fuel filter, pump, cam sensor and crank sensor still won't run, but will run on ether. Where to go next?

What you are telling me is the engine is firing the plugs but not getting fuel.
When you changed the fuel pump and filter, did you check the fuel pressure at the rail ?
Are the injectors getting power and ground pulse ??

When i spray ether when turning the key over it will start,but otherwise it wont fire off?what should i replace?

This occurs when there is no fuel getting to the engine. You will need to start checking things like fuel pump, fuel filter, lines, flow before replacing anything. Take off your fuel filter and see if you can blow through it with you mouth. I know it sounds nasty but that is the best place to start. A clogged fuel filter can cause failure of the fuel pump too.

You could squeeze the fuel return line with a tool that wont damage the hose.its a check to see if the pressure relief valve on the fuel rail isnt bypassing and sending the fuel back to the fuel tank.Is the air intake including air box in good condition?

7.3 power stroke acts like it running out of fuel

have you had it on a scan toll? did throw a code? it sounds like your sucking air into the system through a rubber boot from the aftercooler. as far as throttle response have you had the injectors checked?
