Try switching your coil packs around see if you can get spark out of the 2 & 5 with a different coil pack in that location. If that doesn't work maybe your ICM they can test the ICM at autozone, but can't test the coil packs.
You have not mentioned the engine size or type. On the 1.8 the thermostat is located under the coil pack and the coil pack would need to be removed to access the thermostat housing.

Yes. when you look under the hood from each spark plug there is a spark plug wire going from each individual spark plug to the ignition coil (pack). If it is your problem they are relatively simple to change out and are usually held in place with a few small bolts/screws. Make sure and disconnect the battery first.
On the magnavox coil pack the opposite plug on the coil pack fires at the same time. If it is dead only on one side it may be the coil pack {six terminals on one brick looking unit.}
