The locks automaticly lock. Once we are headed down the road the doors lock and then when the vehicle is put in part or shut off the doors do not unlock on their own.
Also when you unlock the doors only the driver side unlock and then you have to hit the unlock button twice for everything else to unlock.
These were features added by Jeep. The doors lock when you go over 15mph. And you have to double press the unlock button to unlock all the doors. This is so that you dont unlock all the doors if its only you getting into the car. And jeeps have never had keyless entry, this isn't cadillac buddy.

I've had a strange issue with my drivers door the last week. I go out and unlock my door with wireless clicker. Then I reach in put the key in the ignition start the truck, make sure the defrost is on. Then I step away and slam the door, 'bump',,, I look back, the door did not click shut, again I slam the door 'bump'..it does not click shut. Bump Bump Bump...I try to shut it...then I reach in and push the lock/unlock button , lock/unlock...lock/unlock...on the door..click..click...it does beep or the horn toots..remember trucks key is in ignition , truck running, and I'm clicking the button on the inside of the door. Finally the door will shut and hold closed , once it was not locked,,,once it was shut and locked. I had to get my other set of keys to unlock the door.
Do they work with the key fob, do you have one of those? They lock when put into gear an unlock when put into park because the BCM - body control module does that .

Driver and Passenger Door Lock Operation
When any of the door lock switches is pressed to the lock position, the BCM door lock/unlock signal circuit changes from an idle voltage of ~3.4 volts to 0.0 volts generating a lock command. The BCM then applies battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Relay, which in turn applies battery positive voltage to the Door Lock Actuator lock circuit of all the Door Lock Actuators. Since the Door Lock Actuator unlock circuits are held to ground through the resting Door Unlock Relay(s), the actuators execute the lock command, locking the doors.
The lock function can also be accomplished by the BCM having received a keyless entry door lock command, if the vehicle is equipped with keyless entry.

Keyless entry personalization allows the driver door to be unlocked individually before unlocking the passenger doors. When this feature is active, the BCM will require a repeated unlock command to unlock the passenger doors.

Driver, Passenger and Cargo Door Lock System Operation
The front power door lock switches are integral components of the driver door module (DDM) and passenger door module (PDM). The switches are two position normally open rocker switches. When placed in either the lock or unlock positions, the switches provide a direct input to the DDM or PDM. The DDM or PDM monitors these inputs and sends a Class 2 message indicating a change in the switch's respective position. Modules which activate the power door lock motors receive the Class 2 message and activate the motor in the appropriate direction to lock or unlock the vehicle's doors and liftgate. The rear door lock switch provides a lock and unlock signal to the body control module (BCM). i would say the theft module saw the door trying to be open without the door lock or fob first, once the door lock button was pushed it shut down, it new doors were trying to be unlocked in a theft manner, once shut down it needs time to reset or needs to see ignition cycle with key and read chip in key, smart system isnt it, good luck.
