Starter is located on the side of the engine between the radiator and engine. You can see it from the top looking down, bu your gong to have to remove it from the bottom of the car. Auto Zone will have the replacement starter and step by step instructions to getting the job done. Good luck

Help to start my 2001 olds auroa

Usually if a vehicle won't start up, a few things could be wrong with it;

Try testing the starter; if it works when power is supplied to it, then there is another problem.
The battery could need to be replaced, you can have that tested at your local auto parts store.
the alternator could be bad as well, you can have that tested too.
Other than that, you could be having trouble with blown fuses, and you may have to replace the relays for the starter or ignition system.

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora will start sometimes and other times it won't, I replaced the starter and still the same.

If the engine cranks but won't start, the battery and starter are out of the picture.
When it won't start, someone will need to check fuel pressure and for spark at the plugs to proceed.

2001 aurora won't start at all. Hook batery up horn horn sounds and doesn't stop head lights stay on but nothing happens when the key is inthe ingition. No clicking or anything at all. alarm on...

The security system does not disable the starter, it only disables fuel to the engine. In the fuse block under the hood, locate the STARTER relay. Place your hand on this relay and see if it clicks while someone else turns the key to start...if the relay is ok then the starter itself is faulty. Good luck, i hope this helps.

My 2002 Aurora (4.0) makes an audible click when the key is turned, but nothing else. It could be the Starter relay, but I am not sure where that is located. It could also be the starter itself, but since...

The starter relay is located in the PDC (power distribution center) located under the hood with a removable lid (black box). Exactly how old is the battery and what is the battery voltage with the key off? Have you verified the battery connections, because this sounds as if it is a bad or corroded connection at the battery or starter itself. You can still have bright lights, but not enough ampere to get the starter to rotate.
