When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect itagain, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your carradio. The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. Ifyou do not have this code you need to go to your Ford servicecentre and get them to enter this code for you.
The serial number is on a label at the back of the radio. With this model you must remove the radio from the dash to find it.
If it is a European Ford the serial will look like M123456. You can try this site for the code once you have the serial as they are cheap and reliable for decoding Fords.
Otherwise your local dealer will get you this code for around £25.

first you need to disconnect battery to stop it then reconnect it and try code again if you don't know it call the ford dealer with your vin number they will give it to you and tell you how to reset your radio.
I have a 2001 focus ..radio suddenly stopped playing after being at garage. I thought that the battery was disconnected and the radio neede reset code, as it has a rad blinking dash anti-theft light. i went to ford garage and they told me they don't have reset codes on the focus. Is this true?
