Why is the front end of my 1993 s10 blazer squealing when I first start it up? When it warms up afte a while, it stops. Is it the s-belt? I replaced the water pump and there is no leaking coming from the weap hole, so the bearings should be fine. I notice a little play in the fan, but it's not really that much. The manual says that there usually is a no more than a 1/4 in. play in the fan, and my fan isn't moving that much. No bends in the blades either. Could it be the belt?

The thing is...when i replaced the water pump, i checked all pulleys and no squealing noises were apparent. I put the new pump in; put everything back in place; fired her up and she started squealing. Like i said..it does go away after driving a while. The amperage is good to go on the battery. Could it possibly be the fan causing the belt to squeal? I mean...when do you know its time to change the fan?

Hi, the belt would squeal when first starting because the battery was low on power, check that the battery is the correct amperage for the vehicle and you have the correct output from the alternator, good luck.

1993 Chevy S10 Blazer Serpentine Belt replacement

You use a breaker bar to move the tensioner, remove the belt and use the tensioner to put it back. You draw the belt and pulleys on a sheet of paper before removing, otherwise there should be a small diagram of the belt and pulley positions on the fan shroud or radiator support.

1993 chevy s10 blazer wont start turns over, changed fuel pump and brain

The first thing I would check is you are getting both spark and fuel at the cylinders. Remove one spark plug at a time and connect to it's plug wire while holding the end of the plug against a solid ground. Have someone crank the engine. If you see a good spark in the spark plug gap I would then make sure you have fuel at the cylinders. Cranking the engine for a bit. Then pull each spark plug out and check that fuel is on the end of the plug. If you have both fuel and spark at the cylinders I would look more at such things as timing belts, sensors, etc.

I just replaced my water pump on my 1993 s10 blazer as well as the s-belt and the arrow on the tensioner doesn't seem to be in the marked area and the front end is squealing. Also there are 2 arrows on the...

The arrow on the tensioner is the point where the belt has stretched and should be replaced. The squeeling is something that you may have to get used to, I've had 7 out of the last ten belts i've changed that squeal like hell and I could do nothing to stop it. I think their cheaping out on the material costs. Thank you, Dana P.S. if your talking about the serpentine belt and not the timing belt, than the marks are irrevelvent. The second arrow is the point where the tensioner should lie when the belt is new.

My 97 blazer squealing has been driving us crazy with a

Could it be the pulley on the AC that's squealing? Use a mechanic's stethoscope to locate the squeal. If it is the AC, you can get a belt that is shorter, and bypass the pump, since it doesn't work anyway. Try some belt dressing first. When the engine is running, just spray it on the inside of the belt.

OK the blazers are prone to stopping up the cat. Start the engine and run it for 5-10 mints. feel the cat on both ends, the pipe going in and the pipe going out, if it is cooler on the out going end she is clogged up and just buy you a generic will fit cause they are less costly.
