Remove the motor then pry out the panel. Best is get a manual before you mess up your door handle and the locking mechanism. But definitely you'll need a new window regulator.

Where are the fuses to unlock the and windows in a vw beetle2000

The fuse block that contains the window fuses is located at the left side of the dash board. Open the door and remove the cover. There should be a diagram in your owners manual, and may be one on the inside of the cover.

What wires have to be crossed to raise the drivers side window on a 2000 pontiac montana.

No answer for that & no one would give you that for free

You need to get at least part of the wiring diagram
for the window circuit, from ALLDATA data base, at a
local repair shop

You can remove the door panel & trace the motor feed,
but that is really going about it the hard way

Easy once the door panel is off

If you just pull out the switch ,you will be dased & confused
without the wiring diagram

My window on drivers side of my 1998 beetle will not roll up. When I went to roll it up it made a clunk noise and now it will not roll up. I need to take the panel off so I can fix it. do you know how?

remove the door panel and behind it their is a metal plate on the other side of this metal plate is the mechanism ,now the pattern part replacement is a complete metal plate with motor but VW does a replacement wire mechanism which is so much cheaper

The passenger side window on my 98 vw beetle went down and will not go up and the motor still runs but the window goes nowhere. i got the plastic inside door panel off but can not get the metal inner panel...

Hi:
You need to fix the window thru the small openings in the door. Most likely , you have had a plastic roller or guide part break, so your window assembly is not attached to the motor.
One option is to remove the door panel on the good side to use as an example to what you are missing.
or you can get a subscription to www.alldatadiy.com for about $20, and they will give you all the info you need to do the job!

My daughter is buying a 1999 VW Beetle and the AC is not working, the driver side window will not go down and the buttons that opens the trunk and fuel door will not work. Will these be really expensive to...

I have a friend with a 1999 Beetle. The Window was a pain, ended up taking it a shop. 285 at $90 per hour labor, saved an hour because I had taken apart the door.

AC not working at all? Likley the AC Controller (475) or the blower motor regulator (225).

Wiring is also bad in the one your looking at likely. And wiring jobs are a pain.

It will need a new timing belt at 90K for 600-800. DIY will run you 200.

I am fairly competent with car repair and can usually fix most things myself, but I trust others with wiring issues and computer issues.

Skip that car.

Drivers window wont open

the door panel has 2 small screws at the very bottom of interior panel, another 2 screws behind the pull handle<will need to be pryed apart at the seams of the pull handle, then pull out on panel to release several push clips around the panel then once panel is loose you will need to reach around the panel and disconect latch handle and electrical connectors.

2001 vw beetle window and door lock will not work

Hi Rachel . It sounds like the plug on the drivers window motor (Which is also the ecu for that door) has come off or is loose . This will stop the cdl working as well . Regards VW Audi tech

Right side mirror housing is broken, need to replace.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door

Driver side electric window won't go up or down

my best guess would be the window regulator, vw has never been able to build them correctly. when the door panel is removed to gain access to the lifter check the window lifter motor. before replacing the regulator. also make sure the window switch is sending/ recieving power.
