Replacing the battery requires no special programming.
However
So long as you have at least two (2) programmed
keys (up to eight are supported) you are able to add
additional keys or REPROGRAM your RKE fobs
(remote keyless entry fobs) ... YOURSELF.
Is the remote battery dead? And why can't they unlock the car? It sounds like you got a rookie for unlocking cars! I would call another tow company, then send the bill to AAA. Unlocking the car should have nothing to do with a dead remote. I know this because I have done thousands of lockouts for a wrecker company. If the door locks are on the door their is a tool called an under over that should reach the lock or door handle. If not they can carefully wedge the door and reach them with a rod also to unlock it. Even though it's electric it should open with the manual part for safety reasons.
I would think this vehicle would still be under warranty.Dodge is 7/70.Check your warranty papers. You could have it fixed for free.Call the dealership and give them your VIN number and they will tell you if it is covered or not.Make sure and read your warranty papers first cause sometimes they try to get away with making you pay for the repair.Hope this helps.Good luck.
the battery is dead and remote key can not open the door
