I have the same problem. Apparently they have a problem with the intake gasket leaking at cylinder #1. Warm the engine, spray some throttle body cleaner around the gasket area where the intake bolts to the engine (around/under the power steering pump) and if the idle changes or smoothes out, then you found your leak. I did this and found it.
Before changing the coil, test them using an ohm meter. They should have about 12000 ohms resistance.

The plugs are wet so its not a fuel problem its a spark/ignition problem. Check the plugs connected to the correct wires. remove one plug and with its wire still on it tie it down to a metal part on the engine. Turn the engine over and look for a spark on the plug, is there one?

How do i reset the 'service engine soon' light in my 1993 saturn sl1?

Hello: You Can try disconnecting the battery for 20 seconds but if you haven't corrected the problem the light will come back on. You need to go to auto zone or advance auto and find out what code you have so you can repair it. They can also clear the code.

I have a 2001 Saturn SL1. It has problems starting, you have to have the gas pedal to the floor and crank it a couple times, and it will start but smokes and gas milage is terrible. Check engine light came...

Hello: The number one injector could be stuck open. to check you will have to remove fuel rail with injectors attached, energize fuel pump with key off and see if #1 injector drips/sprays fuel. YOU COULD ALSO SWAP #1 AND #2 injector and see if the misfire goes to #2 cylinder.

Trouble codes for saturn ls2 car is showing the following trouble codes. po300, po306, po451 p2bo3 and c112b

P0300 Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected

P0451 EVAP Pressure Sensor Range/Performance

I have no idea what those last two are. Typo, maybe?

Your first two codes could be caused by old spark plugs and/or leaking plug wires.

Your EVAP code could be a bad fuel tank pressure sensor or a malfunctioning EVAP system. With that code, if you remove your fuel cap and get a whoosing sound, then it is an issue with your EVAP system not properly venting the tank. If you don't get that sound, then the tank pressure sensor is bad.

1999 Saturn SL1 trouble starting when warm

It was the coolant temperature sensor. It was telling the car that the coolant was always cold, therefore when starting a warm engine it was being flooded. $$$
