940s have an access panel in the trunk, underneath the trunk liner. Pull it up, unscrew the cover, then you should have access to the floater and the fuel pump. The pump itself should be $100-$130 at Autozone, Pep Boys, Advance Autoparts, etc.

check your pump if you replaced the pre pump in your fuel tank you must check the seal .remove the plastic ring check the base at the entry to your pump is flat .it may be leaking air due to your seal not seated in correctly.

My car not getting fuel 94 volvo 940 i have replaced fuel & fuel relay i need help

Does the pump run? If not does the pump get power for 1 second when the key is turned to run position? If it does have power then the answer is very obvious, the pump is defective inside the fuel tank or on the rail which ever you have.

Stalls for no reason occasionally starts again after a while

This is a fuel system related problem.

Try starting the car and listen to the fuel pump from beneath the backseat to know if it works. If that does not work then it means the solution to the problem is to replace the fuel pump.

Good luck.
