Guess the guys at the dealership forgot to reset your oil chage light. Check your oil to make sure its not black. If its at a good brownish color then get to your oil life screen on your car and i belive you hold down the check mark button till the oil light resets (30sec) or so.

2005 grand Prix oil pressure light an dinging comes on

1. Check your oil level. If oil level is not ok, correct oil level and find out why oil level was low and correct the problem. (Leaks, bad PCV, Burning oil due to severe engine wear, nobody has bothered to check it for the last 3000 miles, WAY overdue for an oil change, etc.) If oil level is ok, proceed to next step.

2. Remove the oil pressure sensor and install a manual oil pressure gauge. Run engine to verify low oil pressure. If gauge shows that the oil pressure is low, overhaul or replace engine. If oil pressure is ok, replace oil pressure sending unit and retest.

Where can i find the oil gauge for a automatic transmisson for my 2008 FJ Cruiser

This transmission doesn't have transmission dipstick to check the oil, this is a 'sealed" transmission which uses WS (world standard) transmission fluid, toyota claims this fluid never needs servicing but most dealers recommend changing the fluid at 100,000 miles, I myself own an 07 and changed the fluid at 60,000. Changing the fluid requires some special equipment and procedure so it's best left to the toyota dealer on this one.

Oil change frequency.I just bought this Jeep. I looked in the manual and it says every 3000-4000 miles. The gauge on the info center says next oil change due at 7300 miles. Leading me to believe that it...

The 3000-4000 mile oil chnage interval is for extreme driving as described in the user manual. If you are not driving in stop and go traffic, frequent engine shut off's and restarts or dusty conditions, short trips, you can adhere to the higher mileage interchange. Your vehicle should alert you when service is due.

For the last several days that I have started my car, I have gotten the warning chim for Oil Change Required, Contact Dealer. I have put approximately 1,500 miles since my last oil change. I have 5,600...

If the oil change warning was not reset at the previous oil change it's letting you know about the 5,000 required change, and it will continue to chime until reset. See your manual or dealer for reset instructions.

The oil light is blinking on a 98 honda accord and the oil is black when i check it....what does this mean?

Black oil needs to be changed immediately. It's possible that even if the oil level is full, it's so thin and worn that it's tripping your Oil Light due to lack of oil pressure.

Red light indicator is on below RPM Gauge, which says "maintenance required" what might be the problem?

It's simply time to change your oil. After you change the oil, push your key into that slot on your gauge and it will be green until next oil change warning. Don't know how many miles you drive, but about every 5 or 6 months you'll see it change to let you know.

Maintence required on red

Maintenance Required is a light that comes on after a predetermined number of miles. For example, if the maintenance schedule Honda set for the car calls for an oil change at 3000 miles, a new fan belt at 6000 miles, and another oil change at 9000 miles, then the maintenance required light will come on every 3000 miles and stay on until it is reset by the dealer. Some people, especially those that do their own regular maintenance but don't have a way to reset the light themselves, find this an annoyance. But others find it useful and take their cars in to the dealer every time the light comes on, and they rest assured that all of the regular maintenance is always done on time.

What this light does NOT do however is signal that there is anything immanently wrong with your car. It is not a "Check Engine" light (that's the one you should worry about if it ever comes on), but merely a reminder for you to do preventative maintenance. That doesn't mean you should *ignore* it, per se, as you want to make sure you have your car on some kind of maintenance schedule, even if yours is not as strict as Honda's. But there is no need to panic.
