Hello - Sorry, but my car is actually a Nissan Primera 1600 GX 1997, but the options on this site do not appear to cover cars this old (so I have had to use any one of the options avaialble re make and year!! - perhaps you can help with my probably simple problem, or pass my problem on - Thanks.
One of the 2 yellow screws/bolts holding on my licence plate on the boot has broken and the plate is therefore about to fall off!
Clearly I need a new screw/bolt to hold it back on, but the inside of the boot has an off white/cream hard plastic 'cover' covering access to the 2 screws/bolts from the back! How do I get this cover off?
On taking the small covers off that give direct access to the 2 tail lights on the inside of the boot (breaching this off-white/cream cover), I can see there are at least 2 quite big male/female 'push' type fixings (each side) that appear to hold this cover to the metal boot. Do I need to carefully 'pry' these 2 male/female fixings apart (each side) to get the cover off? Are there only 4 holding it on alltogether? If this is the case, are they easy to pry apart? How likely are they to break? Do I need a special tool?

Not my grand-daddy's Cadillac but a pretty nice car
(just the same (opinion)).
There appear to be 49 "RECALL" notices on the
1997 Cadillac Catera... (17 on the cooling system...
mostly appearing to be more about CUSTOMER COMPAINTS rather than ACTUAL ISSUES)
Detail and fix it information appear with each entry...
Additionally you can access TSBs
(technical Service Bulletins) with similar detail
on BBB Industries FREE circuit drawing site
(LINK: also seen below).
I would STRONGLY recommend reading the entire list
of complaints (and BBB Industries FREE solutions) before
falling for any Mitchell Manual sales opportunities.
There are steel clips on either end of the struts use a flat head screwdriver to remove them and the strut should pop out with a little persuasion. Make sure to hold boot lid in case it falls on fingers.
