Your ABS has nothing to do with the brake pads. It is a computer controlled actuator that makes the brakes pulse intermittently when you lock them up. If your abs light is on, it means the system is off, down, broke, Get it fixed or put a piece of tape over the light, that is what everybody else does. The cost is high.

ABS/TCS lights on 2002 Honda Accord Coupe EX V6. Have high quality OBDII Scanner. Should the on board system report the problem to the scanner?

Only if the warning light showed on the dash...most often these abs sensors get clogged with brake dust or dislodged during wheel swaps if the pads are fine and fluid level correct...first check the brake pads then the disks and clean the sensors with an old toothbrush and reseat, also check the fluid level on the abs system.this should clear warning light.but any error codes stored on ecu need to be cleared using obd.

We have new brake pads and new rotors, now abs light is on, Why

Interesting question. The ABS magnetic sensors on each wheel can get gummed up with dirt, rust and brake dust. Perhaps the brake shop did not clean the sensor properly, or worse, may have damaged one or more when the rotors are replaced. The sensor also has a tough wire up to the chassis. If this is damaged or disconnected, the ABS light will turn on.

Take it back to the shop and have them check.

Why does my brake light and the a b s light comes on when this vehicle has brand new calipers and pads on

Because the problem is not with pads and/or calipers. If the lights come on only when you brake, you may have a light bulb out. If they come on when you start the car and they stay on, you have a problem with your ABS system (anti-lock braking system). The systems self-check when you start the car, so the light should come on and then go out. If it comes on and stays on, the ABS system has failed. You need to have the vehicle serviced to repair the ABS system.

ABS light on (on dashboard)

If While Installing CV Joint you Failed to Disconnect Wheel Speed Sensor FOR ABS System, It is Possible The wire got stretched and broke off INSIDE Outer Wire Insulter. OR Just Totally UNKNOWINGLY Broke it or Disconnected it. OUTER CV Joint? Match up PERFECTLY? Sense Light came on After Repair to THAT Particular side Concentrate on INSPECTING That side, for A 2 Wire Wrapped as 1 May be a Plug Just inside the Engine Compartment, Coming FROM Wheel well with a 2nd Plug There 1st Plug Being AT The SAID Wheel Backing Plate. Upon Discovery of Problem Reset Light at A Service Center OR Just Disconnect NEGATIVE Battery Cable for 1 minute. Again no doubt that WhEEL's Part Of the ABS Circuitry was Disrupted
I'm in Great Hopes you Find this as Helpfull Information and it assists you in Correcting your Problem. Have a Great Day,
