Sounds like the clock spring in the sterring colum because of the air bag it is a safety issue so it was probably recalled. I know there was some other chryslers recalled for this. Have your vin number ready and call your local chrysler dealership and they will be able to tell you if it was recalled and if it was they will fix it free of charge. Hope this helps

2001 f250 airbag light came on horn won't work or cruise controls or automatic hubs won't lock. Is this all connected? It happened at the same time

The horn switch and the air bag and cruise control wiring in the steering wheel go through the clock spring, ford calls it air bag sliding contact. The clock springs have been know to go bad.

Cruise control and horn stopped working

Check your fuses first, then a vacuum leek second. To reset the air bag light unplug the battery for 30 seconds then reconnect. If the light comes back on take it to a garage as the air bag can be very dangerous.

Cruise control not working, air bag light on, horn wont beep

This vehicle has a part called a "clockspring" that is located in the steering column beneath the steering wheel. It is the contact unit for the steering wheel controls and the air bag wiring in the steering column. Sounds like to me that you have a bad "clockspring" and it needs to be replaced. The part is available aftermarket from many parts stores so you don't necessarily have to go back to the dealer for the part. The part is not extremely hard to replace, however, it may not be suitable for a DIYer (requires steering wheel puller). You may want to take it to a trusted repair facility and have them repair it for you. The labor is approximately 1.5 hrs at the given shop rate. Good luck. Hope this helped. Here are a couple of websites.. one for instruction and the other for parts pricing.

1996 chrysler town & country horn & cruise control not working. Airbag light is on

this problem is typically fixed by replacing the air bag clock spring, located below the air bag itself. Chrysler offered a lifetime warranty extension for certain 1996-1998 minivans with this problem. contact a Chrysler dealer and give them your vehicle identification number to see if yours falls under this warranty.

Horn wont work but works with the panic button

The computer controls the horn and looks for a signal from the Remote Keyless Entry system or the horn button. Due to the fact that the horn works with the RKE but not when you press the horn button, would cause me to suspect that the Clock Spring mechanism, which is also used to activate the Driver's Air Bag, might be malfunctioning. When the Clock Spring breaks, the computer does not get a signal from the horn button so it can not opperate the horn. If I remember correctly, when the Clock Spring goes out, the Air Bag light on the dash either does not light up for 2 seconds when you first start the vehicle, or it comes on and stays on all the time, which is to let you know that the Air Bag is not functioning, and the primary cause is the Clock Spring. So check your owners manual to see if the Air Bag warning light on the dash is functioning normally. Your local Chrysler dealer can quickly and easily check the function of the Clock Spring, Horn, and Air Bag system, through the use of the DRB scan tool. If it is in fact the Clock Spring that is malfunctioning, the Air Bag module and the steering wheel must be removed in order to replace the Clock Spring, which should be left to a trained professional, that has been educated on the proper handling of the Air Bag system. You wouldn't want to accidentally deploy the Air Bag, as you could be injured. That and Air Bag modules can be expensive to replace.

Cruise control stopped working horn doesn't work Air bag light is on

If the air bag light is on, the horn does not sound when the pad is depressed (but does souns when you activate the alarm) and the cruise control doesn't work (but the lamp lights up when you first turn the key on), your issue is probably with the clockspring. This is a device that keeps an electrical connection between the steering wheel and the rest of the car regardless of steering wheel position.
