My 2002 V6 4wd s10 pickup wont start. Checked battery its fine. checked alternator and it passed. it will not turn over. after inserting the key and turning the dash guages and lights will blink ans spasm and continue to do so even after the key is out. then sometimes when i ty to start nothing will happen except the engine light will come on. Could this possibly be realted to spark plugs? those have not been replaced in a long time.

Check your main fuses for power. If none go back to battery cables

CAR NO START PROBLEMS:-----

It can be the issue with weak battery or faulty battery or if battery is ok,then its faulty starter causing the issue.

Have the battery tested first, i bet it is defective. Autozone does this test for free.

check alternator output at the alt and at battery also put a test light on the starter solenoid at the little wire on solenoid see if it lights up when turn key ? possible positive or negative cables have good ohm checks but not carrying enough current ?

just replace your alternator and you will be fine also you might check any wires hanging around just to make sure nothing touching the body ok goodluck

A very common problem on the 99 S10 is a leaky fuel pressure regulator in the intake plenum.What happens is when the truck sits for a few hours or more the regulator leaks all of the fuel in the fuel injection system into the intake air plenum. This does 2 things, 1 it has no fuel pressure when starting and 2 it floods the air intake with raw fuel. Sometimes if you turn the key on wait 3 seconds then turn key off then turn key back on and just turn key to crank starter for a split second and wait 3 seconds.do this 3 times to repressurize fuel system then crank to start(you will hear fuel pump buzz each time you do this.also you may have leaky fuel injectors. Try to crank engine with the gas pedel to the floor. This will tell the computer to stop spraying fuel trhough the injectors and it will start. Joe ASE Master Tech

when you go to start it does it still say driver 1 on the dispaly... or unknown driver.. if it says unknown driver it wont do anything

First problem sounds like starter solenoid. Second is definitely gearbox mounting.
