You need fuel, air and a spark for your motor to run.First determine if you have a spark or fuel, this will half yourproblem,if there is no spark then its an ignition fault and if the plugs are not getting wet then its a fuel problem.Start from the plugs and work back keep me posted ok.Check for spark first just remove a plug and fit it on the lead hold the plus to earth[with an insulated pliers to prevent a shock]get a buddy to swing her over and observe for a spark at theplug contacts.

1985 cj7 6cyl starts up just fine and then it wont

Sound like either fuel or ignition. Have you replaced any fuel filters? I would check the condition of the distributor cap and wires as well. Moisture could be a factor.

81 jeep cj7 wont start after rewiring

check this,
remove a convenient spark plug, stick it on it's wire and place where you can see it, stick you finger over the spark plug hole and have a friend crank the engine, note whether the air blast and spark are the same instant if not the distributor's out of time

1979 CJ7 wont crank...

Starter may be bad. Quick test but not garaunteed to prove anything is to hit the starter body a cple times with a hammer or other object, If starter then turns over replace it. If that doest do anything it may be they starter relay located in the underhood fuse box or the starter solenoid.

Jeep CJ7 clutch/gearbox rattle

it could be a universal joint and not the trans at all.Put your jeep in park and get under it and check for play at each end of the shaft(try turning it by hand counterclockwise and clockwise then try moving it up and down and side to side) If there is any play at all you, need universal joints. Your jeep may also have a hanger bearing.....Check it for play as well
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Bronco Wont Start (help please)

Check for timing gear problems. They have plastic teeth on the cam shaft gear which will shatter causing it to jump time.
