Check your alternator if you can get it to start and stay running. If not then you may want to consider taking it off the car and having a parts store bench test it. It's most likely that.

Just a guess your engine was running on the battery because the alternator was not putting out enough to keep the battery charged. The engine died but still had enough power to power the dash lights but not enough to start it

sounds like the alternator went. try to charge the battery any autopart store offers it free. the with a volt meter check the volts at the battery with the car running it should be at least 13.5

definitely sounds like the alternator has went bad to me, but check around the battery and firewall for loose wire connections.

Well there are a few things it could be, the ignition coil but it will usually restart after it cools off, the ignition control module that is easily tested by most autoparts stores. or possibly be the crank position sensor, when those go the car just dies to protect the engine and it will not restart till a new one is installed.
