Since you have a dodge any mopar oil just make sure you get the specific weight like 10w 30 or whatever your truck calls for but if theres no place that sells mopar oil, castrol valvoline mobile are all very good oils that exceed most other brands.
Depends on the mileage and where you live (cold/freezing), but the manufacturer recommends 5w30 out of the gate. If you have over 75K miles I would go with a slightly thicker oil 10w30. Change the oil and filter every 3K miles. A good grade Castrol in 5QT containers from WalMart makes good economic sense.

It should be indicated on the oil filler cap on the oil filler tube. I would check with an auto parts store where you buy motor oil.
I did a Google search and 99% say 5W 30. I have a Dodge Nitro and use 5W 30. Most new engines are designed to uses lighter oils for better starting during cold conditions.
