Not familiar with your Merc. This is general info. My porsche has a mecanical belt tensioner down low under the engine off the ground. Toyota has a spring charged piston pushing a belt tensioner wheel. Most other cars I've worked on had a pivoting alternator. If your car has a flat serpentive belt then it probaly has a spring loaded tensioner. If it has Vee belts then something sets the tension mechanically at install. Good luck!

catalytic converter is clogged basically its stopping up your exhaust. Over time the pressure will slowly vent out, allowing your car to start, only to build up the backpressure again, stalling engine.

Classic example of a clogged catalytic converter! I bet it will restart after two hours as well.

1989 Mercedes 560 sel, where are grease fittings for ball joints

some of these original suspension parts do not have service ports on them.. they are a sealed item that requires replacement when worn out..the new replacement parts may have grease fittings made into them.. you may need the replacements..sorry for the bad news..

see if the store that sold you the radio has a wire adaptor kit. they are available for most american/japanese cars so i would think a mercedes one should be available.makes easy work out of the job

Replacing alternator belt on 1986 mercedes 560 SEL

Go to your local library and ask them if they have a service manuel for your particular car if they dont have they can get through inner library loan. When ever I need to work on a car in which I have never worked the first place I go is our library. I hope this helps
