2012. What could be causing a hissing sound coming from the drivers side rear brake line with no visible leaks?

Because the vehicle has ABS and air in it, it must be bled from the caliper upwards using a pressurized bleeding bottle.

Bleeding brakes 2005 equinox

Lots of air in system. Close valve, helper depresses peddle, open and close valve to extract air - fluid without lifting peddle. With valve closed lift and depress peddle again. Repeat process many times until clear and steady while watching master cyl fluid level never gets lower than 1/3. Having the fluid extraction hose in a clear container immersed in fluid will aid in seeing air bubbles.

I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox. When I press on the brake, the odometer (and other lights) dim. Let off the brake, lights return to normal. What is it?

make sure the vehicle is charging. that will cause the lights to dim. use a multimeter set to dc volts to test. or could be loose battery posts. does car start ok?

Brake system lights keep coming on. the brakes were resently changed

probably air in brake line , if you had work done by someone they should have bleed the lines
return and ask it be done

On my 06 chevy equinox the third brake light is loose can it be fixed without buying a new light?

3rd brake lights are usually just held with 1 or 2 screws.if the clip or plastic it screws into is stripped,you can usually find a used part pretty cheap.it may just need to be screwed down.the metal clips may be found at a hardware store.

Where is the coolant bleed screw in the 05 Chevy Equinox LT? This is killing me....bled air out of some hose that sprayed a greenish oily substance, but i haven't seen where the engine coolant bleeds...

the 05 uses the red coolant dexcool which is not compatible with green [antifreeze]if u topped off the nox with green the mixture jells causing all sorts of cooling problems need to flush out system as to bleed screw their isnt one

Where is the transmission Fill plug on a 2005 chevy equinox?

There is no fill plug on transmission pans, you have to fill them from the
dipstick tube in the engine bay. Get a long funnel that will fit into the
dipstick tube hole, and then fill it that way. Make sure you turn the
vehicle on while filling it, and put it through all the gears, with your foot
on the brake. This will make sure your torque convertor is being properly
filled, along with the trans. Good luck.

I changed my tires for my Chevy Equinox 2005 and wanted to align it. When tried to align the rear wheels I was told that it COULDN'T be done because I needed an eccentric bolt in order to align the rear...

Emergency brake light is on all the time without the brake beign on what do I need to do? on my 2005 chevy equinox

check your fluid level on the master brake cylinder resevoir(RH side to the rear of the engine compartment mounted to a large circular metal). When the fluid is low, this light will remain on. If the levels are fine, might be a possible damaged Ebrake switch or air in the system. Hopefully this helps

Always start with the farthest bleeder from the master cylinder.That would be the right rear first,then left rear,then right front,then left front.I will usually open the farthest one out and let it gravity bleed first.Depending on what the repair was.Did you just replace a wheel cylinder or did a brake line rust?if the problem is only in the rear you only have to bleed the rear.Again farthest away first.Hope this helps.Let me know how you come out or if you have anymore questions.Good luck.

The brake pads or shoes do not make the abs or traction lights go on.You have to get the codes from the brake module to find out what is causing the lights to go on.You did not specify that the lights were on.Get the codes and I`ll help you find the problem.
