I need a wiring diagram for under the hood of a 1995 chevy s-10 blazer 4x4 with a 4.3 vortex engine, distributor cap is on side of the motor not on top

If you mean the control module, previously called the "computer chip" it is under the distributor cap. If you mean the fuse box it is under the dash on the drivers side.
Ignition module sits in the ignition distributor, remove distributor cap, there will be two elec. harness plugs, the one with two wire's is for the pick up coil, the other one is for the ignition module, just unscrew module out of distributor and install new one.

The firing order for a Chevy s10 depends on which engine you have.
1.9L engine the firing order is: 1-3-4-2 . Distributor rotates counterclockwise.
2.0L engine the firing order is: 1-3-4-2 . Distributor rotates clockwise.
2.5L engine the firing order is: 1-3-4-2 . Distributor rotates clockwise.
2.8L engine the firing order is: 1-2-3-4-5-6 . Distributor rotates clockwise.
4.3L engine the firing order is: 1-6-5-4-3-2 . Distributor rotates clockwise.
Should hook up to junction block on the fire wall near brake booster . Should be 4 all together , these are main power supply's for the vehicle ,two power the ignition switch .This is not a direct feed to the transmission . If when you changed the distributor cap you misplaced the wires in the incorrect order you could have caused a misfire. When looking at the cap the correct firing order for a 4.3 liter is 165432 going clockwise. Also if you loosened the distributor hold down bolt and turned the distributor even slightly you could cause a misfire.
