Key won't turn in 2008 Chevy Cobalt. Tried moving the steering wheel, but didn't help.
Now what it sounds like is the key has a sensor built in it the keys cost around 60.00$ but this is most likely what is wrong. the sensor is a security feature with the car if the light glows while trying to turn the car then this your problem :)
My car done this while still under warranity. I went to one store and when I got in it the key turned over fine. Went to another store and when I put my key in the ignition there to leave it wouldn't turn. My local Chevy dealer towed it to their service department and found the ignition switch was locked. They replaced the ignition switch and then 2 weeks later same thing happened again. They replaced the ignition switch a second time and so far it's worked fine. Now if only I could figure out why my passenger side airbag off light is staying on, which happened 20 miles after my bumper to bumper warranity expired.
