Bought 01 dodge, 2yrs ago, has 300,000 miless, ram 2500 diesel, engine has had some work done, but runs good, my question is long do glow plugs last in this trks
Well, Hate to say this to you but your Cummins 24v turbo diesel does not have glow plugs. The fuel temperature necessary for proper ignition is heated by an element inside your fuel filter housing.
Depends how long they are used ,ie north alaska or tropical ecudor
The Cummins 5.9 diesel does not use individual glow plugs , per cylinder. instead it uses a single GRID heater {think toaster element on steroids} located in the intake manifold. Symptoms of problems are poor initial starting in normal weather

No it dont hv glo plugs, but it does hv intake air heater block,, its just b/4 the intake manifold( its about 4"x4" sq and about 1 1/2 inchs thick/ has wire conn on fire wall side of it! It heats the int air- not the fuel
My 06 ram 2500, has 930 K, still has orig int air htr
