This is a service reminder and can be reset by you, it refers to regular maintenance intervals the are recommended by the manufacturer that can be found in the owner's manual such as oil changes, air filter replacement, tune-ups etc., depending on the mileage of the vehicle. to reset, try this procedure. hit step button until console reads 0 miles to service. than hold down the reset button until display resets miles.

What does it mean when light comes on service performance

The SERVICE PERFORMANCE light is to let you know you vehicle is due for maintenance service. The light is set to light by mileage not set because there is something wrong. Your owner's manual will have what maintenance service should be done. Or if you let me know how mileage is I can get the information. Here is the procedure for resetting the light.ddae6e5.png

Perform service light on what does it mean?

If it is only "perform service", this is likely your mileage counter telling you to get an oil change. If it was a "check engine light" it would be amber in color and would require use of a scanner to acquire codes and check for faults. Here's how to reset:
On a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo if the "Perform Service" light is in the middle of the dash Simply press the "SET" button until the display shows the "0 miles to service", Then hold the other button below it down until it resets to "3000".

What does perform service message mean?

This is a oil change reminder. Nothing fancy about, when you get your oil change go into the menu and click reset counter and it will go off. If there was something wrong with your car the check engine light would come on.

When i start my 2003 jeep grand cherokee where the temp shows it starts dinging service program, i have no idea what that means and a book wasn't giving to me when i bought it 5months ago

hello. For starters you can take your jeep to any auto zone store, and they will put it on a scanner for free to let you know what your jeep's computer is indicating Many times the problem is that the sensor itself malfuntions, not that anything mechanical is wrong. good luck with it.

AND here is a free link for you to obtain the "book" about your jeep. take care.
