I have a car trailer that I pull with a 2005 Chevy 1500. All of the lights seem to be working fine except when I apply the brakes, the curb side brake light works but the road side brake light does not work and the tail light goes out. I think I hear a little buzz noise that I think is coming from the trailer. It stops when I take my foot off the brake. Any suggestions?

I have this same problem with my truck. The U haul guys and I tried and tested every scenario, leaving out hard wiring behind the plug (where the adapter goes). I haven't tried it as I don't ever pull anything, however it can't to too hard to do.

Your turnsignal flasher needs to be replaced with a heavy duty flasher.
also, your boat trailor wiring harness is grounded incorrectly or the harness pig tail is wired incorrectly.
this is why when you excite your tail lights and brake lights that your reverse lights come on and the reason that the lights are dimmimg is because your circuits are looking for the correct ground.

have you tried to find the brake pedal switch? follow the brake pedal under the dash and there should be a switch that the brake pedal presses to activate the lights when you push it in . if everything else has been checked then I suspect that the switch has moved enough to not work or it may be just bad. let me know if this was it.... hope this works

If you adding a trailer light harness, you can buy a seperate harness from most auto parts stores that will plug right in. There should be a connector near the rear of the truck that you can unplug, and add the trailer harness. It's simple and fast and you don't end up making a mess of your wiring. I suggest puting some "dielectric grease" on the connections to prevent corrosion.
Flat 4 connector.
Brown is tail lights and marker lights.
Yellow and Green are turn and stop. I think yellow is left.
White is ground.
