they don't have carbs its a throttle body and if you put gas to make it run it has a bad fuel pump beat on the tank while cranking mite make it start work but will need to be replaced

1996 chevy 1500 4wd pu. carb. problems. rough start, and takeoff, poor gas mileage, and not shifting. has tbi.

Check the TPS, (throttle position sensor), and the IAC, (idle air control motor), for proper operation. Rebuild TBI unit if necessary. Kits are available aftermarket.

1993 chev z71 wont start

Check for a shorted sensor. Try disconnecting the coolant temp sensor, they ussually go bad creating these problems (even when the gauge works fine). Also, you can check ignition timing.

Sounds like the fuel pump is going bad(or in this case, has gone bad). I suggest that you change the fuel pump and use a fuel cleaner in your gas tank as dirty gas may have caused the problem to begin with.

Engine stalled out, would not start, pour gas in carb, cranks, keeps running, until idle falls below 12to1500rpm,than stalls out again and will not crank, repeat gas or starting fluid in carb, cranks runs and...

This truck is fuel injected, the problem sounds like a weak fuelpump, it runs when you pour gas into it until that gas runs out, the first thing is to test the fuel preasure, if the pump is weak it may run with gas poured into it but wont idle, also a common problem is the coolant temp sensor and the ground wires to thermostat housing bolt but i wont bet its the pump inside the fuel tank, if you put a fuel gauge on it there should be at least 55-61 psi if its a few pounds lower it can cause problems, you have everything else and it runs with gas poured so its a fuel problem check the preasure, theres a valve up top on the fuel line to connect a fuel gauge to it, start there hope this is helpful.

I bought a '94 chevy p.u. project truck

Have you checked the temp sender? If the computer does not know the engine is cold it won't put enough fuel into the mixture to get it started.
If after starting it by priming, if you can get it to run, I'd look there.
Also on most systems the crank sensor will play a part in there as well...If the computer does not see a signal from there it will often shut down the fuel pulses to the injectors.
If simple testing does not show you anything, have a code test done and see at least which systems are showing faults and work from there. Chiltons and Haynes list individual component tests you can do to isolate a single component.

Help w 1994 chevrolet truck

This injector set-up needs a specific fuel pressure supplied to the fuel rail to even start, much less run properly. The fuel pump is immersed in fuel inside the gas tank to keep it cool and not burn up. Running the fuel level low causes more heat in the pump and interuptions in proper fuel pressure. AC/Delco pumps have proven to be a reliable fix, the aftermarket pumps only last for a month or two sometimes. Check fuel pressure under the hood and power and ground to fuel pump at electrical harness at top of gas tank. This truck needs a fuel pump.
