Remove the tire. Open the caliper bleed screw and pry/ push the caliper completely open, Holding it open close the bleeder screw. remove the caliper bracket bolts(17MM). Pull and let the calipers hang( If the hose can withstand 2500 to 3000 PSI, it can handle 3 pounds of weight). Remove the screws from the rotor. Use heat on these, Even a blow dryer with a few minutes helps. They strip easily. no need to put them back in. Remove the brake rotor, use a hammer and beat if off if necessary. Rotate it as you hit it. Reinstall and check the brake fluid in the reservoir. If you can afford it, do both sides.

Take off the brake caliper. hang the brake caliper with some safty wire to take stress off or the brake hose. then to remove the rotor take to two phillips head screws out of the rotor then pull it off. if it seems a bit sticky and wont come off then give it a hit with a dead blow.

How do I replace rotor on front right side of my 1997 accord?

You have the fun ones! What you will need to do is remove the knuckle from the vehicle. Remove the axel nut Rmove the caliper Unbolt the brake lines from the knuckle. Seperate the outer tie rod from the knuckle Seperate the upper ball joint from the knuckle Seperate the lower ball joint from the knuckle and remove knuckle from the vehicle. With the knuckle removed you can access the four bolts on the back side that secure the wheel bearing to the knuckle. Remove those for bolts and tap the wheel bearing out of the knuckle. You can then remove the four bolts that hold the rotor to the hub and then remove the rotor. Tip: replace the wheel bearing at the same time. You will probably ruin it when you move it from the knuckle. After reassembly make sure you tighten the axle nut to the proper spec. Failure to do so will cause the bearing to fail! Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

Loosen 4 bolts holding rotor to the hub cannot loosen flange bolts

In order to change rotors on these you will need to remove the axle nut. Then remove the for bolts that hold the bearing to h knuckle onth back side of the knuckle. Then you can remove the rotor, bearing, hub assembly from the knuckle. Then remove the four bolts that hold the rotor to the hub and then you can finally remove the rotor. I will add that it is easier to do this with the knuckle removed from the vehice. You will need to tap the wheel bearing out of the knuckle and sometimes this will ruin the bearing so plan on replacing that at the same time.

There is like a plate in the front of the roter and dont know how to get it off

Older hondas had a non knock off brake rotor. In order to service the rotor the wheel bearing needs to be removed from the knuckle. This is easiest to do with the knuckle removed from the vehicle. Once the knuckle is removed and the four bolts holding the bearing to the knuckle are removed the bearing can then be removed from the knuckle. Then the four bolts holding the rotor to the hub can be removed and the the rotor can be separated from the hub.

More often than not the bearing will be ruined when separating it from the knuckle so replacing the rotors usually means you'll be replacing the bearings as well.

once it is all back together it is very important to torque the axle nut to the proper spec. Failure to do so will cause the wheel bearing to fail prematurely.

Taking off front rotors

the easiest way is to take off the knuckle loosen the four wheel bearing bolts on the backside of the knuckle and leaving the socket on each bolt use an impact hammer to drive the bearing out then rotate the rotor 1/4 turn and it should pull off. . . you might have to clean up the rust on the bearing with a grinder so the rotor will come off... do NOT take the bearing apart you do not need to. many shops will do this but it is not needed and ruins the bearing as it is a sealed unit not designed to come apart. ( to take the knuckle out take off the caliper and undo the axle nut, top and bottom ball joint and the tie rod end)
