Take your car to a mechanic or your local auto parts superstore and have them read/scan the codes for the reason for the check engine light. A good place to start.
O2 sensors can last up to the life of the engine, this is based on my repair experience of the past 35 years and 1000's of cars with check engine lights on, most common is that the O2's are just reacting to a more serious fuel control issue like a vacuum leak or defective fuel injector and many, many more problems..
see the dealer on this, this is a serious problem
