2001 for tarous code p1633 what does that mean how to start fixing the problem
P1633 means KAM (keep alive memory) power is low. The power that goes to the vehicles computer to hold its memory when the key is off has lost its power. I would start by checking fuses in the fuse panel in the engine compartment(near the radiator support). If the fuses are all good then I would test for power at the computer connector which is also in the engine compartment behind the engine. I don't have the pin number or wire color at the moment (I apologize) since the Ford website is down at the moment. I have repaired this problem in the past by installing another power wire to feed the circuit essentially bypassing the original circuit.
Hope this helps
i have exactly the same problem with my car, and is too expensive to take it to the dealer, how do i find the pcm, where is locate it?, my car is burning the fuse #22, is a 10A, and is not passing the inspection, how can i fix this???
Sorry but replacing the PCM most likely will not cure this. As far as dealers being expensive, well they have the know how and specialized test equipment to fix the car, if the repair of problems like this were easy I would be out of a job, I get cars all the time that the customers has thrown $100's and even $1000's at the problem and it ends up in my stall at a Ford dealer, the problem could have been fixed in most cases for a few hundred dollars, it is your decision.
