why would you want the stabilitrak disabled it a safety feature tied into your abs--brakes-- traction control --if disabled those and certain options may also be disabled like cruise control --remote start ---if your looking to temporarily to work on vehicle pull your abs fuse --
Traction Control System (TCS) The traction control system limits wheel spin. The system turns on automatically every time the vehicle is started. . To turn off traction control, press and release (TC) on the instrument panel.
In most cases traction control module in need to receive a signal out of every wheel if four wheel equipped if some reason will not ur engine light would come on need read out using a scan tool to get an idea to lead u to ur issue a sensor a disk a good clean up around the disk hopefully not electrical wiring issue need inspect.
Good Luck
Alexandre, check in your owners manual for small off button on the shifter under the large engage button. If you do not want traction control on in your vehicle check your manual for traction control fuse location and remove fuse. I can not say this is a wise thing to do, because your traction control is a safety feature for your vehicle. ABS braking system will be lost if you pull the fuse also. Pulling the fuse will disable abs, traction and stability control. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

turn on your car and remove the ground cable from the battery, if the car dies it's time for a new alternator, if not take your battery in to be checked. The other message(traction control) may be just due to a faulty battery/alternator.
The cruise control is automatically disabled whenever there is a problem that triggers the CEL. The flashing CC indicates that it is disabled. I'm not sure about the Stability Control light being on, but would think that if there was traction problem causing the Stability Control system to kick in, it would also turn off the CC -- the SC uses braking and engine throttle to stabilize the car so the CC has to be out of the loop.
If the CEL is still on, I'd have the codes read to see what triggered it. Usually, if a problem is not detected again for three consecutive driving cycles, the CEL will go out (although the code is stored for a longer time and can still be read). Read the codes yourself. 2005+ models display all the engine/transmission/abs/vdc codes on the dash.
Just perform this sequence within 10 seconds:
1. Turn key to ON position (just before START) 2. Turn headlights ON 3. Press Trip button 4 times 4. Turn headlights OFF 5. Press Trip button 4 times 6. Turn headlights ON 7. Press Trip button 4 times 8. Turn headlights OFF (optional)
Codes will display in the trip meter. You might have to press the Trip button to cycle between engine, transmission, and braking computers.
The abs/vdc codes, at least, should be saved forever unless a dealer clears them.
I know this is not a solution but I too started having this same problem today. Start car, runs normal then all the sudden it feels funny, traction control light blinks on and dash displays service traction control-reduced engine power. This causes my car to sputter like it is going to stall I have to pull over and turn my car off and back on to drive off (only for it to do it within the next 10 minutes). I thought turning TC off would work for now just to drive it, no not successful stil does it : ( I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND HAD IT SCANNED HAD A CODE FOR GROSS EVAC LEAK AND SOMETHING ABOUT THE THROTTLE PLATE/BODY NOT SURE IF THAT IS RELATED BUT THAT ALL THE INFO I HAVE ON THAT.
I'm just guessing: You may have a bad ABS Sensor. since you mentioned TRACTION Control. Traction Control controls the vehicle while it is in motion but a faulty or failing ABS Sensor could interfere with your traction Sensorbe the cause of your worries. Hope its a good guess!
bring it to the dealer, could be a update on the abs system.could be the body control module.do yourself a favor, bring it to the biggest gm dealer in your area.dont bother with local shops they can not keep up with all the udateds and tools and scholing needed
