My d light on my 1995 honda accord is flashing and the check engine light is on and also the speed thing doesn't work. Please help!!

Have you checked for trouble codes? 1990-'95 Hondas are On Board Diagnostics-first generation, or OBD-1, and the trouble code retrieval is do-it-yourself easy. The two digit codes flash out on the check engine light. Sorry but I can't make out what that picture shows.

engine check light does come on if your VSS doesn't work.
i suggest you use a car diagnostic tool check your car.
mvci honda toyota have a look.

Check with the help of a wiring diagram what a common circuit is and trace that circuit for a break or short. Your car is probably in limp home mode.

two things speed sensor, or odometer cable very easy to repair, try sensor first , have someone test it for you with a on meter,

the best thing you can do is pull the code and work from there.

this thread shows you how to pull the code without using a scanner. its pretty simple. the only reason i can think of why your d4 and check engine light would go on at the same time would be either the main relay you installed is not the correct one or the speedometer is giving problems now. hope this helps. goodluck, and if you need more assistance, let me kknow

check your wheel speed sensors. and vehicle speed sensor on the transmission

drive 4 uses it to sense slip in the front/rear wheels.

check engine light on because it needs to know vehicle speed to shift properly.

no speedometer because it turns the voltage into a signal to the gauge

An engine light will flash from everything from a loose petrol cap to major engine issues...so at this stage it could be anyones guess....what you need to do is contact a mechanic or your local auto parts place to have your system checked with a scan tool.... this will indicate where the fault lies and give you an indication of what you might do to fix it.....

That means Code 17, one long flash means 1, seven short flashes means 7. The code is for the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Have it checked and replaced if necessary.

In cases where both are not working, i believe that it might point to a faulty speed sensor. Is your check engine light on? If so can you retireve the code from it. If not, manualy check the speed sensor. If you need to know how to do this, please let me know. Please rate my response for me. Thank you
