If you have a 1999-2011 Mercury Marquis, Mercury Marauder, or Crown Victoria, and your headlights and or tail lights don\'t work, Ford just finally extended the warranty on your LCM (Lighting Control Module) for free - both parts and labor and will install a new one for free! Ford has extended the warranty to 15yrs/250,000. Must be done at Ford and the fix is free. Have your Vin # ready and call your local Ford Dealer and tell them you need to make an appointment because your lights don\'t work and Ford has extended your warranty on the LCM. Tell them it is the Customer Satisfaction Program 14N01. If they act ****** ask to talk to the manager or tell them to call Ford Motor Company and ask them or you can call Ford yourself. We just had ours done on 8-12-14 in Scottsdale, AZ. If you have a 99 you better get there before Oct. 14th, 2014 as it is a 15 year warranty.

It's actually a relay inside the LCM. I opened mine and replace all four for $16 total. You have to be able to solder the leads to a printed wiring board. Not hard if you can solder. Fixed mine...

You can buy a used one (which might have the same problem), but make sure you get the same year as your car. I bought a used one for a different year and couldn't get my car out of park! The LCM does more than just control the lights.

Maybe it hasn't."

Turn Signals
When the multifunction switch is placed in the LH or RH TURN position, voltage is routed to the turn lamps. The lighting control module (LCM) flashes the turn lamps at approximately 80 times per minute if both the front and rear turn lamps operate correctly. If only an individual turn signal lamp operates, the LCM flashes the remaining turn lamp approximately 160 times per minute.

  1. Verify the customer concern.
  1. Visually inspect the following for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.

Retrofitting HIDs into halogen headlight assemblies is ******* and my look bright to you, but they actually cast less light on the road because the reflector isn't designed to focus an HID tube. Their designed to focus a filament.

Light sheilds wont open and lights wont come on. If i turn on my brights and hold the swith the sheilds open and brights come on but i have to hold the switch on.

This could be a bad switch but im not sure what knd of car this is, there are many cars out that you need to push the lever foward to activate the highbeam lights, pulling back is only to turn on until lever is released, try pushing foward that should turn them on and keep them on until you pull back on the lever, good day.

I dont see if the turn signal light has to do any thing with the engine shutting off, make sure the IAC idle air control valve is working, air filter is good, fuel filter is good and IF your vehicle has a power steering pressure switch then that could be causing it but with 1985 Crown Vic I dout it.
