SOURCE: 1998 Ford windstar horn wiring

There is something called a clock spring in the column that is used for the airbag, horn and cruise control buttons. This clock spring if messed with will cause a/bag light to come on and possibly cause a/bag failure if there is a collision. DON"T mess with the wiring in the column. Run new wires in to the horn or install an a/market horn.

SOURCE: engine code p0307 cylinder #7 misfire

It could be carbon deposits on valve seats keeping valves from totally closing. You can try getting you a can of motorcraft PM3 top end engine cleaner and get engine up to operating temp then remove one of the small vacuum lines from the intake and draw the contents of the can slowly into the engine. After you have drawn in the contents shut engine off and let it soak for about 45 minutes then crank it back up and let it run until it clears. Now it will smoke like a forrest fire while you are doing this so don't be alarmed, just tell the neighbors you are spraying for mosqitos. This may cure the problem. If not you may be looking at a valve job.
This can be verified with a compression test if this is what is causing it.

SOURCE: Steering wheel

This one hits home. They usually start honking the horn randomly as well. There are a ton of covers to remove under dash then you follow the steering shaft to 3 sets of bolts that bolt the shaft in to wings off the sides. Once you remove these bolts the steering column will pretty much fall on your head. Watch out for that. It hurts. There's going to be a few plugs to unplug from the harness and remove the small string that connects the shift indicator, watch out this one breaks easy. I would suggest disconnecting the negative battery cable before you start this process because you may shock yourself or accidently explode the airbag. Hope this helps, be careful and good luck! Oh by the way, let me know how this turns out for you. I'll be checking in from time to time.

2006 ford fusion, steering wheel has horn, cruse control that doesn't work, is their a fuse

I would think the clock spring is bad ,the clock spring is ribbon wire wound in side a plastic body inside top of steering column. The steering wheel has to be removed to get at it. It is used so you can turn the steering with out losing power for the horn and cruise control. How cars clock spring works

I have a 1997 Ford Expedition XLT 4X4,and was wondering why when i put my steering wheel down lower,my signal lights quit working, what is the cause and how do i fix it ?

This is a pretty common issue especially on fords that the owner uses the tilt steering a lot. What happens is the wires in the connector that goes to the back of the switch pull out of the connector. Usually the locks that hold the pins in plae end up breaking when this happens and even if you push the wires back into place they will not stay. For sells a new connector with wires to correct this problem.

You would have to trace which wires they are. Refer to a wiring diagram, and tap a switch to the right ones.

My steering wheel controls quit working. On inspection I found were a wire had been chewed into by a chipmonk.. It cut the wire off right at the plug.. I can splice the one end of the wire bnut im at a...

While I do not have a wiring diagram, that wire may provide power to a computer that controls all of the steering wheel controls. So, it's possible. Not sure of how probably.

I'd probably try to temporarily jury-rig the connection, test the controls to determine if you have a bigger problem, then sadly, look at replacing the entire harness or at least splice a new connector into the wiring. Not sure what level of parts Ford will sell you.

Also, may want to check the fuses (suspect if you traced wires, you already did this) in case a blown fuse is causing the loss of multiple systems.

Have you checked both low beam bulbs? I have seen both burn out close together.Does this have tilt steering wheel? If it does, remove the plastic steering column cover.Check the wiring to the dimmer/turn switch. The connector ends would pull out of the hard shell connector, when using the tilt feature. The wire harness was mounted too tight, and didn't allow for the angle in tilt.

Flashing SRS Dash Light/ non-working cruse control

The flashing light should be giving you a code that will help determine the fault. It will be in morse code like 3 flashes then a short pause and 2 flashes.
However with your second concern that cruise control does not work I would have to say you most likely have a bad clock spring. This is a unit that mounts behind the steering wheel to make electrical contact with cruise switches and air bag.
