Sounds like left front loose wheel bearing knocking ABS sensor out of range causing ABS light to come on and causing grind noise at same location. Grinding noise is probably rotor rubbing on calipar.
This due to either a worn wheel bearing or a worn front drive arm.
The most common cause of a grinding noise when turning is a worn front wheel bearing. What happens is that the weight of the car is shifted on to that wheel as you make the turn causing the worn bearing to make a grinding noise.
If the noise only happens when you are moving, and it changes with the speed of the truck, its something that is connected to the wheels. Road speed does not affect suspension noises like ball joints and spindles. So it would be something like the brakes, axle joints or bearings, or something in the differential where the axles come together. If the truck is 4wd you have front hub bearings behind the brake rotors, and regular bearings if it is 2wd.
did you ever get to the end of this problem as I have the same problem. When i turn the engine on and turn the wheel from side to side there is a really strange 'runmbling' noise coming from the air filter?Q
I had the same exact problem with my 2003 Focus with 108,000 on it. Making right turns and accelerating was even worse. Had many ideas from differant mechanics saying it was wheel bearing, steering rack, loose heat shields, transmission...ect. Well after having wheel bearing replaced and steering rack replaced, the grinding was still there. It was finally discovered that the noise was coming from a bad motor mount on the right side. Had the dealer replace the motor motor mount and finally!!! the problem was solved. Thank God.
