We have replaced the battery in the key fob & the alarm keeps going off & the car wont unlock. How do you re-link the key fob to the car after replacing the battery in a 2004 mitsubishi outlander?
Re: how do you re-link the key fob to the car after
Try this,,turn the key on ,wait 10 minutes, then turn the key off, then right back on,do this three times,a total of 30 minutes, this should reset the key fob,if this is the problem.

I recently changed the battery on my key fob for my ssanyong rexton. I then did the following for the key fob to make it work. 1. Enter vehicle and close all doors.
2. Put seatbelt on (or clip it into the buckle) to shut the warning buzzer off.
3. Put key in ignition, turn to run position but don't start it.
4. Press and hold both buttons on key fob until red light on fob stays on. Then let go of both buttons. Then pressed the alarm button then the panic button, somthing like that. To be fair the button sequence after the red light came on is a bit vague. The alarm was blaring so i was happy when it just stopped.
unlock the car with the key and hold the key over for 30 secs,(the windows will go down) then lock the car/hold key over for 30 secs,(the windows will go up). wait 30 secs then press/hold down the unlock button on the key fob, this will resyncronise the alarm/key fobs.
replace the battery in the key fob and unlock the car with that, if u last locked the car with the key fob, you armed the alarm and can only be disabled by unlocking with the key fob, the car wont start because its an anti theft feature.
