Re: 2004 ram 3500 4wd 5.9l DIESEL. Speedometer jumped between 10 and 50 mph several times then went to 0. Tach and engine...
Change the sender unit on the differential

Changed vehicle speed sensor on the diff.
As before, the speedometer works intially, then several miles down the road the speedo jumps around and then settles on 0. Seems to lose power when the speedo/odometer goes away.
6 spd manual transmission. Cluster check c code A4 28, but the last few numbers change on repeat tests. Only P code relates to an cooling system overheat. Probably due to a water pump casualty several months ago.
