2004 ram 3500 4wd 5.9l DIESEL. Speedometer jumped between 10 and 50 mph several times then went to 0. Tach and engine hour meter ok . Everything else seems to be working fine

    Changed vehicle speed sensor on the diff.
    As before, the speedometer works intially, then several miles down the road the speedo jumps around and then settles on 0. Seems to lose power when the speedo/odometer goes away.
    6 spd manual transmission. Cluster check c code A4 28, but the last few numbers change on repeat tests. Only P code relates to an cooling system overheat. Probably due to a water pump casualty several months ago.

    either you had a faulty sensor ,yes sometimes even new ones are faulty .or the wiring has dirty connections ,try pulling the plug off the sensor and then pushing it back on again

Your battery is dead and alternator may not be charging. Try a jump start. If it starts, check voltage with engine running. If voltage is less than 13, remove the alternator and have it tested.

Somehow the cable and assembly for the speedometer has become dis calibrated for lack of a better word, U might want to check if the meter has a calibration adjustment on it and if so resetting it for zero with a still vehicle.

2006 Dodge 3500, 5.9l Diesel, tachometer registers 0 at idle and at 60 mph, some times it reads 5500 at 70 mph. It is all over the range at different speeds. Where do I start looking to fix it.

2004 Trailblazer will not start. Battery and fuses check out to be good.Tach and speedometer jump around when starter is engaged.
Hi!!

It sounds like your battery is ether LOW or the wiring is loose. Check battery cables to be tight and free of corrosion, also check for loose wires to the battery and alternator. if everything is OK, jump start vehicle. If problem persists, take vehicle ot an AutoParts store to have Starting and Charging Systems checked. (no charge).

2005 honda civic ex automatic stalled at 40 mph
Check the main fuses under the hood. There are several large ones there. A loose connection on one of them could have caused the sudden, complete electrical failure you described. If it is a loose connection, it would certainly explain why it "came back to life" by itself.

Also, might you possibly have any sort of aftermarket security system that has an immobilizer feature on it? While I wouldn't expect this to disable the entire car including the radio, if it were incorrectly installed I suppose it could.

Guage cluster goes out reading 0 on everything, speedometer, tach, temp, volt. Warning lights come on, engine, abs, airbag, and low fuel. Sometimes they come back on???
sounds like a faulty gauge cluster or a loose connector on the back of the gauge cluster

Chevy cavalier 2005 speedometer stuck not working
That Cluster will work But, You will have to get an Installation kit if you want the Tach to work. Everything else will hook up the Same. You have a Distribution Box (Fuse Box) Under the Hood on the Drivers Side, There is a Fuse in it for the Speedo. Inside the Cover to the Box is the Fuse Diagram or in the Back of the Owners Manual.

SPEEDOMETER-TACHOMETER-AIR CONDITIONER ALL WENT OUT AT SAME TIME
2000 dodge ram 2500 truck 4wd the abs light and air bag light were on then the check engine light went on then all of a sudden all the gauges and warning lights went dead and off including the tach and other gauges. But now all the gauges are working and the check engine light went off with all the others and the tach and other gauges are working. what is the problem with this truck ? The only code it read was p1687 from the dtc. Is the problem the pcm or something else.
