What are you using to "read" the battery? A multi-meter, perhaps? A battery can show 12 volts on a multi-meter and still not have enough voltage to start a car. The voltage will be adequate to operate most electrical functions but inadequate to crank the car. If you hear a clicking sound when you turn the key, the starter is not getting enough voltage.
You should have the battery "load tested." Most auto parts places do this at no charge.
Did it read 14 volts with the engine running, or with the engine off?
14 volts is at the high end of an acceptable range for a battery when the engine is running. It should never be this high with the engine off.
It would appear that your battery is okay. The next thing I would do is remove both cables and clean the battery terminals and the cable connectors. Do either of the terminals have white material (corrosion) around them? If so, this should be removed. Use a mixture of baking soda and water to neutralize this stuff. It is very
acidic.

Battery is reading 14 volts, could this still be the issue?
It was reading that with the engin off, cables look good with little to no corrison, but what I dont understand is that the car wont jump start eaither. It started after work, it was driven about 2 miles to a store and turned off I ran in came back out and it would not start just dead, I had a friend try and jump it and it still would not start so we stood and talked for a few min.and I tried it again and it started I ran back in the store came out and it had died again and would not start a man with his amp meter checked the battery and alternator and said they were in good shape and while we were talking again it started I drove it home (45 miles) turned it off and it hasnt started scence.
