When i stop at a light or drive up a hill my 97 gmc jimmy will not accelerate even though im flooring it. after a few seconds i will pick up speed eventually

It's a possibility that your oil pressure sensor could be bad. You can replace it and see if it works again but It sounds to me like your oil pump failed which starved your bearings of lubrication and caused them to fail. Odds are that you'll need an engine rebuild or to install a used engine. I'm sorry and I hope this helps.
