Ford focus has the ABS brake light on and traction control light
My 2003 ford focus SVT has the ABS brake light on and the traction control light on simultaneously. I replaced one of the ABS sensors and nothing happened.

Do you have a brake pedal??? Also check the brake fluid resivor cap ,,i think you should have a connector hooked to it..Make sure the plunger in the cap is moving and make sure you have a good connection on the connector..If so check your speed sensor connectors
cars or trucks that have an abs brake system, have an abs pump controller, if you replaced your brakes and and let fluid escape at each wheel, air can get into the abs pump, and will require an abs scan tool, to bleed the abs pump. there is no shortcut to doing this function that is safe. not all shops will have this
scan tool, its not a regular scan tool with an abs code reader that allows you to see the codes, you will have to call around to get the best price. the dealer has the scan tool or other shops may have it. and you cant just go buy the tool, its expensive. min. charge around 100 dollars on up for a shop to bleed the abs pump. good luck!
If brake pedal is chattering or pulsating it is most likely because you need either front or rear rotors, or both. They are rusted or out of round. If there is something wrong with either your abs or traction control, the abs or traction control light will come on & stay on. As soon as these lights come on, it automatically disables abs or traction control. If you would like to take out fuse that disables abs or traction control circuits, it will leave the lights on.You just wont have their functions. If by some strange condition your chattering goes away, then there is indeed something wrong with your abs or traction control.Fuses are labeled abs or traction either under hood or in your fuse panel in car.
Anti lock brakes and traction control are operated off of the axles, they will have ridges or splines on them for the sensors to read. They get rusty or brake dust on them. You need to wire brush them off and spray wd-40 on them. If not it would be an electronic sensor gone bad.
Have somone help you as you bleed the brakes. Have them pump the pedal 3 times and hold the pedal down with constant pressure while you crack the bleed valve open to the problem caliper. Don't let them release the pedal until you have closed the bleeder valve. Continue this process until you have fluid coming out without air. Periodacillay check the master cylinder to be sure it remains full enough so as not to allow more air in because the resivouir ran to low during the bleeding process. If when you are done and the brake light continues to be on then you will need to bleed the proportioning valve until the system balances out on line pressure. If this works can you please give me a rating??? Thank you.
You need to have your brakes inspected by a professional. The lights indicate that ABS and traction control are not working...although brakes will work without these features, a humming noise can indicate more problems to come.
