If it doesn't turn over it may be your starter going. or a weak battery. start with that first, insufficient fuel pressure won't prevent you car from cranking, but weak battery or bad starter will. If you can jump it and it starts its probably the battery if it doesn't crank then its probably the starter. Good luck

I have a 95 Ford crown Vic it will turn over but won't crank,it has half a tank of gas, changed the fuel relays, all fuses good in all fuse boxes but it will not start only turn over I'm lost

check codes first--may find problem there.
check spark on more then 1 cylinder.
check fuel pressure and volume--if fuel filter is stopped up, may have overworked fuel pump. With fuel cap off you should hear fuel pump running (key on) If not running, check for power at sub harness--Lastly tap on bottom of fuel tank with RUBBER hammer while someone else is cranking vehicle--if it starts get it to where you can remove tank before turning off--very often one time deal.

Is it hard to change a fuel pump for aford crwn vic 1988 and how long?

The hardest part about replacing the fuel pump is wrestling down your fuel tank. The pump is inside of the tank and requires tank removal. As long as you own a couple of jackstands and a floor jack, you will have a fairly easy time replacing the pump itself. This should take the weekend warrior about four to five hours labor time.I hope I could help!!! Thanks for using Fixya!!!

1989 Z24, Pulled in my driveway. Stopped then it sounded like it was out of gas. turned it off. The next day tried starting and it would not turn over. As if it was not firing

heres a list of things to check: fuel filter(s), in tank fuel pump,(listen for a buzzing sound in the rear gas tank area when key is in the on position but not engaged in start), fuses(inside and out), fuel level, check for spark, (spark should be blue, not yellow)

My 99 Crown Vic acts like it isn't getting gas

check for clogged fuel filter first, usually the pump works or it dosen't, check and get back to me.

Fuel issues

should hear a whirring humming sound from the fuel tank (if that is where the pump is located) just turn on the key and take off the gas cap you should hear it.
Also did you drain the fuel from the tank when you had it down ? after that many years the fuel would be "gummed" up.
