Re: How I can replace cabin air filter in toyota rav4?
The cabin filter is behind glove box, open glove box an release it so it opens farther to get to filter ( should be release clips at sides of glove box)

For 2005 Toyota Corolla (and Matrix), the location of the cabin air
filter is inside of the drawer (passenger side). Open the drawer, you
will see a screw on the RIGHT hand side. Unscrew it with a cross shape
screw driver. Unlock the drawer from the screw holder. And take the drawer out of the cabin. After the removal, you will be able to see the location of the cabin air filter.
There is a lock at each side of the filter cover. For each side, use two fingers to pinch the lock and pull out the cover. You will see the old filter after removing the cover. Pull it out, and insert your new filter.
Put the cover back. Make sure the two locks are firmly locked. Put the drawer back. To make this work easier,
you may lock the bottom of the drawer first, as there are TWO locks on
each side of the bottom drawer. Close the drawer to see if the position
is right. Place the screw back, that's all
The cabin air filter is actually pretty easy to change. Here are the steps:
Set the air conditioning system to Recirculation. The case for the cabin air cannot be removed with the system in the Outside Air mode.
Turn the engine off.
Open the Glove Compartment
unclip the damper rod on the ride side of the glove compartment. To unclip it usually it is just a squeeze tab but sometimes it is a phillips head screwdriver.
The glove compartment now must be squeezed together at the rear to allow the tabs to be released. Just let the glove compartment hang down.
Through the glove compartment opening, locate the filter cover and remove.
Remove dirty filter and replace with the new and reverse steps 1-5 to put it back together.
Shouldnt take to long usually takes me about 5 minutes to change it.
As for the toyota cabin air number im not to sure on that but you can go to any parts store and pick up an aftermarket cabin air which will save you a bit of money, same quality..
The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box, you will have to remove the glove box, behind the glove box is a cover about 1" high and 7" long, remove that cover and you will see a tray that holds the cabin air filter, remove the tray and you can replace the paper cabin air filter, I recomend using a Toyota cabin air filter, the Toyota cabin air filter is a HEPA air filter and is available at any Toyota dealer for about $ 30
